On January 29th Tamale Hut Café Reading Series will be proud to present poet Jason L. Brock as our featured author.
Jason L. Brock is a poet and spoken word artist originally hailing from the St. Louis, MO metro area. Since moving to Chicago in 2008, Jason has been active in community involvement and the local poetry scene. Some of the events and programs he has been involved with include being a featured guest and reader at Loretto Hospital’s “African American History Program”; creative director and host of “Thoughts and Rhythms: A Monthly Spoken Word Show” at Ain’t She Sweet Café in Bronzeville; and he was a featured poet at Berwyn Public Library’s “International Literacy Day Celebration.”
In November and December 2010, Jason served as co-creative director and judge for Berwyn Public Library’s own “Poetry Idol” contest. Recently, he released a CD of his spoken word poetry titled Monolithic: Thoughts and Rhythms, Volume 2. Visit his website at www.jlbpoetry.com to read and listen to some of his poetry.
