So, how’s 2014 been going for you? Everything okay so far? We hope so!
The year is off to a good and busy start for the Tamale Hut Cafe Reading Series and a few of its associates. Not only has the first annual Tamale Hut Cafe Writing Competition officially opened to submissions, our first reading event of the year is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, with Janet Wondra as our featured reader. Ms. Wondra, a previous Tamale Hut Cafe presenter and current faculty member at Roosevelt University, will be returning to share more of her poetry as well as her creative nonfiction.
As always, the event begins at 7 p.m. with our featured reader’s presentation, followed by an open mic. Tamale Hut Cafe’s tamales and tinga will be available for purchase as well. Tamale Hut Cafe is located at 8300 W. Cermak Road in North Riverside–please come join us there on the 25th!
